When we finalized the selection of works for the exhibition at Günter Zachariasen's home in North Frisia on October 8, 2025, he was very much looking forward to the exhibition. Although seriously ill, he hoped to be able to attend the opening on January 9, 2026, himself. Unfortunately, this is not possible anymore. Günter Zachariasen passed away on November 20, 2025.
Günter Zachariasen (born in 1937 on Sylt) grew up in unspoiled countryside surrounded by the North Sea. In 1975, he left Sylt and purchased an old farmhouse with a garden on the North Frisian mainland. His works are inspired by the untouched nature he experienced there and the colors of the North German sky.

"Infinite Now" was the title of his exhibition from June 19, 2022, to January 15, 2023, at the Museum Kunst der Westküste on Föhr. A reference to the fact that Günter Zachariasen's works touch on existential questions.
