Johannes Müller’s paintings focus on people; sometimes as individual figures, sometimes as part of a larger crowd. The paintings in the exhibition depict familiar everyday situations: people lying on their towels at the outdoor swimming pool, moving through the water, waiting for the bus, or out and about. These are casual moments that, taken on their own, hold little drama. Johannes Müller is far more interested in the moods that unfold in such situations and what they reveal about human experience.
