In Yongchul Kim's paintings, he depicts scenes in which people, animals, plants, flowers and landscapes can be seen. Motifs emerge from vigorous brushstrokes only to dissolve again immediately.

Yongchul Kim (KR 1982) lives and works in Stuttgart. Among others, he is represented in the Green Family Collection (Dallas) and the Hort Family Collection (NYC). Recent group exhibitions included "Where Souls Meet Beyond Time" at Gwangju Museum of Art, Korea (2026), "DISSONANCE. Platform Germany" at Künstlerhaus Bethanien, Berlin and "Das Eigene im Fremden – Einblicke in die Sammlung Detlev Blenk" at Museum Bensheim (both 2022). A publication about him was published by Distanz in 2022 and in 2023 his work was featured in the book "More Disruption. Representational Art in Flux" by John Seed, for which one of his paintings was chosen as the cover.
